No purchase necessary. The contest is open to legal residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba who are of majority age in their province of residence. Limit of two entries per person. Employees, directors, representatives and agents of STARS and its affiliates, as well as the immediate family members (spouse, children, parents and siblings) and those individuals living in the same household of such employees, directors, representatives and agents are not eligible to enter. This Contest is void where prohibited by law.
By participating in the contest, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by these official contest rules and the decisions of STARS with respect thereto, which are final and binding in all respects.
The contest commences on July 1, 2020 and, subject to these rules, will conclude at 23:59 (MST) on Feb 28, 2021.

Winners
All valid entries submitted during the contest period will be eligible for one of three grand prizes (as defined below). Draws for the grand prizes will occur at 1:00 p.m. (MST) on March 5nd, 2021.

Each draw for a monthly prize or a grand prize will be random, performed by an officer or a director of STARS, and witnessed by a representative of STARS. Entries may be subject to verification and may be declared invalid if they are reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

The selected entrant of a prize will be contacted by e-mail (using the e-mail address provided in their entrant's entry) within three days of the applicable draw. This entrant will have 72 hours to respond to STARS' e-mail notification.

Entrants are solely responsible for monitoring their own e-mail accounts for notification.

If the selected entrant cannot be contacted or fails to respond to any attempted e-mail notification by or on behalf of STARS within the applicable time period: (i) the entrant may be disqualified from the contest; (ii) the entrant's entry may be declared null and void; and (iii) STARS may, in its sole and absolute discretion, draw another entry at random from the remaining entries.

In order to receive a prize, the selected entrant must: (i) correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question; (ii) provide a scan or photocopy of a valid government issued driver’s license (or alternate government identification that is acceptable to STARS) to STARS to confirm that individual’s identity, age and residency; and (iii) sign and promptly return to STARS (or its agents) a Declaration and Release Form provided by STARS and executed by the selected entrant.

Each prize will be forwarded to the winner within four to six weeks from the date when the winner’s signed Declaration and Release Form is received by STARS.

In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted on the entry at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” means the individual who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

The odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the contest period.

Each prize must be accepted by the winner as awarded. No cash or other substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted, except that STARS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All costs and expenses not specifically included above as part of any prize, including, without limitation, any applicable taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Each entrant consents to receive publications, announcements, advertisements, messages, event/seminar invitations, and other communications (collectively, the 'Communications') from STARS and its affiliates for the purposes of: (i) sharing certain information with each entrant; or (ii) establishing, developing and/or managing STARS’ and its affiliates’ relationship with each entrant. By accepting the prize, each winner hereby further consents to STARS' use of the winner's name, city of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness for advertising and other promotional purposes, in any media or format, whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the Internet, at any time in perpetuity and worldwide, without further compensation or notice to any such winner.

STARS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant from the Contest if STARS finds or reasonably believes such individual to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest and/or to be acting: (i) in violation of these Rules; (ii) in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; or (iii) with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass anyone, including STARS and its employees. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual to automate the entry process, or otherwise, undermine the legitimate administration, security or operation of the Contest, may be a violation of criminal and/or civil laws. STARS reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Entrants engaging in any of the foregoing activities may be disqualified and forfeit any Prizes won.

Each entrant acknowledges that STARS or anyone else involved in the development or execution of this Contest, each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and each of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the 'Released Parties') have not made, nor are in any manner responsible, for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any Prize, including but not limited to, its quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Further, no responsibilities are accepted by any of the Released Parties for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, or acts of any government or authority.

BY PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, EACH ENTRANT HEREBY RELEASES AND HOLDS HARMLESS ALL OF THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, INJURIES, LOSS, CLAIMS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH: (I) PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST; AND/OR (II) ACCEPTANCE, USE, MISUSE OR NONUSE OF THE PRIZE OR PARTS THEREOF, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LIABILITY FOR DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND, AND FROM LIABILITY TO ANY OTHER PERSONS RELATING TO OR RESULTING FROM ENTERING THE CONTEST. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER WILL THE RELEASED PARTIES’ LIABILITY HEREUNDER EXCEED $1.00 PER ENTRANT.

Without limiting the foregoing, the Released Parties are not responsible for: (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, or any third parties, or by any of the equipment, hardware, software or programming associated or used with the Contest; (ii) technical errors, defects, delays or failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctions, interruptions or disconnections in communications lines, Internet or website access, hardware or software; (iii) digital or electronic disruptions (e.g. security breaches); (iv) unauthorized human intervention (e.g. hacking); (v) technical or human error which may occur in connection with any aspect of the Contest; (vi) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from a entrant’s participation in the Contest, or receipt or use of any Prize; and/or (vii) lost, incomplete, illegible or garbled entries, mail or transmissions, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, computer viruses, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, failed computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions, or other errors or problems of any kind whether electronic, mechanical, or human.

The Contest and these Rules: (i) are subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws; and (ii) shall be governed exclusively by and construed in accordance with the laws in the Province of Alberta, without regard to conflicts of laws principles. Any dispute not otherwise determined in accordance with the rules of the Contest shall be adjudicated in the courts sitting in Calgary, Alberta.
